Obituary

MADISON - Steve Kevin Doll, age 63, of Madison, went home to Jesus on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. He was born on Aug. 3, 1958, in Madison, the son of Jerome Doll and Elsie (Lundin) Doll.

 

Steve graduated from Madison East High School in 1976 and then joined the U.S. Air Force. He attained the rank of staff sergeant before returning to civilian life in 1987. Steve earned an Associate Degree from MATC in Applied Science IT. His interests included IT, computers, and tinkering with electronics.  Steve was an avid RPG computer gamer and enjoyed watching movies, especially science fiction and adventure.

 

Steve is survived by his mother, Elsie, two sisters, Laura Doll and Coleen Doll; and nephew, Michael Doll. He was preceded in death by his father.

 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

When I think of Steve, I have to think of Mark Askey cuz they were like brothers. But I also have to thank of the ushers club where we had many good moments. There was also a time when we went to Milwaukee on a bus I don't remember why but I remember going there. We love to go to Shakey's and I remember saying they serve fun at Shakey's also Pizza. I haven't had a chance to see Steve as an adult, the last time I saw him was the last year in high school. I had reconnected with him on Facebook and he seemed to be happy. Thinking of these times makes me miss him. My condolences to Laura and the rest of the family.

Sadly the last time I saw Steve was in high school. He still looks the same now as he did then :-). My deepest sympathies to his family during this difficult time. When my mom (profile pic) passed away a couple months ago, everyone kept saying to remember the good times and she's never gone. To Steve's family, remember the good times and he'll always be by your side.

I just learned of Steve’s passing. There aren’t words adequate to express my sadness. Growing up, playing board games either in my basement or on the stairs at his place. Singing until we were horse at Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, and going through high school together. We didn’t stay in touch as adults, but we did get together 20 years or so ago to catch up and reminisce. He was a good man, and I will remember him well. Mark Askey
