SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.- Rex Aaron Strait, age 61, of Scottsdale, Ariz., died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at HonorHealth Medical in Scottsdale, from complications of an illness. He was born on May 18, 1960, at Madison General Hospital to Jeanette M. and Montie L. Strait (deceased).
Rex was an adventuresome artist. He was very proud of his family. He was seriously injured in 1992 following an accident in which he was hit by two cars while riding his bike home from work. Needing a warmer climate he traveled west to Portland, Ore. There he studied and graduated from Portland University before moving to Scottsdale, where he continued his artistic endeavors.
Rex is survived by his mother, Jeanette M. “Jan” Johnson; sons, Victor G. (Leah) Piazza and David Strait; grandsons, Elijah and Andrew Piazza; brothe,r Paul A. (DeAnna) Johnson; nephews, Adrian Johnson and Samuel Johnson; and niece, Alexis Johnson; as well as uncle, Dan (Cindy) Rynes; great-uncle, Dennis (Shirley, deceased) Rynes; and many cousins and friends throughout the states.
He was preceded in death by his dad, James Johnson; brother, Eric Johnson; and grandparents, Norman and Dorothy Rynes, Gladys Stanek Tabor and Lucy R. Jewell.
