My heart is warm remembering seeing Ian open up and put his own vocal talent on his music. He truly was a wonderful guy, all of us will miss him immensely.

Native American Prayer I give you this, one thought to keep. I am with you still, I do not sleep. Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am 1000 winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight unripened green, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die.

Ian was a brilliant music producer with so much to say about life alone. He was candidly vulnerable and passionate about the things he cared about at the same time. He liked to compliment people and he liked empathize with others. I never met him in real life. I live around a thousand kilometers away (around 620 miles) yet I was always excited when he messaged me on Instagram. I always hoped the best for him. He was an internet friend I was looking forward to meeting one day as he seemed really deep and caring and passionate about music. We both agreed one time that on many days, even fighting to be ourselves is the hardest thing one can do when waking up feels purposeless yet I hope he knew that as I said agreed to that sentiment, Ian is someone I admired. He was himself. He loved cars, he loved music and when I released my short film, he got excited that the Toyota MR2 was featured. When I heard the news, the only thing I could think of is I wish he woke me up. I live at the other end of the world and our timezones probably mean that he's asleep when I'm awake and I'm awake when he's asleep. I wish he woke me up and told him everything he felt to someone he couldn't reach physically. Perhaps to him it would feel like whispering secrets to the wind because though I am not in America, I wanted to be there for him from the other side of the world. His passion inspires me and I think of him in my walks alone. I hope I get to honor his memory by emulating the passion I admired in him because some days, it's hard to even remember that I'm passionate for things. And then there's Ian's smile and enthusiasm for things... It reminds me that humans love even when they feel loveless.
