My sincere thoughts and prays are with You Lori and Your two young Boys. Those two are a testament to You and Chris with your love and guidance. They are wonderful young men and you can rest assure they will carry on Chris’ zest for life. Keep Chris’s Love and Laughter close to you and remember all the fun times you’ve had as a Family. Chris was a good Friend to all and though we did always talk but when we all got together it’s was like old times. The stories never got old and were funnier each time we told them. I (we) will miss Chris but I know he will be looking down on us all. But know He’s in a better place and no longer having to go through the struggles of that awful disease. I believe He’s on a permanent fishing trip and we’ll all see each other again some day. Take Care for now. I’m sending my Prayers to you and the Boys…. Rick Thielmann…”Tilly”

My memory of Chris was as part of our fishing group that spent time on Winnibigosh and Devils Lakes. The last few years his Dad (Vern) came along too. He would also call just before every deer season to catch up and wish us all a good safe hunt. Great guy. My condolences to the family.

I remember when Chris first came to our farm to ask about duck hunting in our marsh. He must have been successful because he kept coming back. He liked bringing his family to watch us milk the cows. We will miss seeing him. Herman Miller

Sorry to see our friend and colleague has passed. My name is Kurt Welke. I too was part of the DNR family Chris helped me multiple times with things like boat launches...helping move the ball forward for the good of the people He had a basic honesty and kind of home spun nature...very unpretentious and always a guy who did what he said. He was cheerful and upbeat and enjoyed a good story and laugh. I'm very sorry for your loss. He was a fine guy.
