Obituary

BARNEVELD - William O. Voeck Jr., age 82, of Barneveld, WI, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison.  He was born on June 22, 1939, in Madison, WI., the son of William Sr. and Celoris Voeck.  

William graduated with the class of 1957 from West High School, Madison and enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years. His life’s journey took him to Denver and then to California where he met Kathleen. They married on May 3, 1975, in Alameda, CA.  They made their way back to the Denver area where William enjoyed a long career at the Denver Botanical Gardens.  

William was also a HAM Radio operator with call letters NE0K. He loved fishing, was an avid sports fan, especially of his beloved Colorado Avalanche hockey team, the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers and UW Badgers. He enjoyed cooking, playing cards and spending time with his cherished wife, Kathleen, and their family.

William is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Keely); his brother, Richard (Kathy); his four children, Deborah (Mark) West, Scott (Sue) Voeck, Lucinda (George) Ranney and Bridget Voeck; grandchildren, Miranda (Brandon White) West, Lucas (Allyson) West and Matt (Rachelle) Voeck; and great-grandchildren, Zander, Colt and Raelynn Voeck.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Bill was a gentle giant as my mom said “he’s as nice as he is tall and he’s very tall” He called me short stop and took me to my first ball game the Oakland A’S. My prayers are with you all he will be greatly missed Love Hartmut and Mickey

I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. Bill was my cousin, his mother Celoris was my Dad's sister(John Bailey). I am so happy that Bill was able to come to our Mother's (Sylvia) memorial this past August. My thoughts are with Bill's Family.

I was sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill and Kathleen at the home of my Aunt & Uncle - Joanne & Norman Kuehni a few years back. I didn't know they had returned to Wisconsin or I would have tried to visit again. My deepest sympathies to all the family members.
