Obituary
EVANSVILLE - Reola Ann Parish (nee Hole) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. She was born to Marcelite (Cooper) and AJ Hole on November 5, 1933, on the Hole farm in "the holler" near Ash Creek, Wis. Reola graduated high school in Richland Center and married her high school sweetheart, Martin Leo Parish, on February 4, 1951- A day remembered for its temperature, -45°! Reola and Martin (deceased April 21, 2004) welcomed seven children in 11 years: Cheryl Ann Rompa (deceased February 9, 2015), Deborah Lee (Duane) Parish Day, Dennis Leo (Jody), Sonja Sue, Jeffrey Jon (Sally), Theresa Kay (Larry) Nehls and Timothy Van. Reola had 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren!
Reola went on to achieve her CNA designation and was a teachers aid to Stacee Fisher from first grade to graduation, receiving her own honorary diploma. She then went on to care for others as a nurse’s assistant for nine years, and a home health care aid. She volunteered at the Stoughton Senior Center and joined her husband in their RV ministry. Reola worked into her 80s.
Reola was a strong woman of faith and lived her life in service to others. Kindness, unconditional love, supportive, great listener and the mom that made the best chocolate chip cookies is how people describe her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a competitive streak when it came to playing cards! She will be missed by all who knew her! We rejoice that she is in heaven with Dad and Cheryl.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson Street, Stoughton, at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Reola wrote a note and asked for those that can attend her celebration to wear a "bit of red." Burial will take place at Basswood Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
