Colleen Adair Hauge

COTTAGE GROVE - Colleen Adair Hauge, age 58, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at UW Hospital. She was born on Nov. 15, 1963, in Stoughton, the daughter of James and Gloria (Lee) Hauge. Colleen attended high school in Madison and graduated in 1981. During the 80's, she worked at a local restaurant, Big John's, with her sister, Rhonda. She then went to MATC and received a daycare license with a focus on early childhood development. Using her certification, she opened a family daycare with her mom and took care of many kids over the years. Later, Colleen worked as a postal worker, in DeForest, for 16 years. Colleen lived a life full of love. It was visible in everything she did, and in the way she looked at her daughter, Glorianna, whom she raised on her own. She valued faith, family and laughter. She stepped in as a mother figure to nieces and nephews who needed it. Colleen was the kind of person who always remembered birthdays and sent texts just to see how your day was going. She always had her phone out to take pictures. It didn't matter if you were eating, talking or laughing, you were getting your picture taken. This resulted in so many silly, yet wonderful, memories of those she loved. She had a creative side and beautiful penmanship. She used those skills and her pictures to create scrapbooks to share with loved ones. She enjoyed being out in nature (when it was warm!) and getting in that last glimpse of the day by watching the sunset. Colleen is survived by daughter, Glorianna Hauge; niece, Angelina Hauge; father, James Hauge; four brothers, Kerry (Michelle) Hauge, Gregg (Eva) Hauge, Wade (Audrey) Hauge and Jason Hauge; sister, Kim (Tim) Smith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by mother, Gloria; and sister, Rhonda Hauge-Huettl. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021.
