I had the opportunity to work for Chuck on waterfront engineering projects at the beginning of my career at Warzyn Engineering in the 1970s. Although he was trained as a geotechnical engineer, he wasn’t afraid to use his technical/scientific skills and meticulous engineering approach to other areas of civil engineering ( e.g. The USACE Shore Protection Manual). I benefitted from his ability to delegate to younger staff with a “Trust but Verify” attitude. He appreciated and excelled at both the technical and management aspects of running a multi-disciplinary consulting firm. I will always have great memories of working with Chuck on technically challenging projects. Harriet - We really enjoyed getting to know the two of you during those early years at Warzyn! Unfortunately Wendy and I won’t be able to attend the celebration of Chuck’s life. We get back into town late that Sunday night.
