Andrea Ann Prine

OREGON - Andrea “Andy” Prine, age 78, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on June 28, 1943, in Madison, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Schmitz) Froland. Andy graduated from Madison East High School in 1961. She worked for people with disabilities as a personal caregiver at REM-Mentor Network for nearly 13 years, retiring in 2011. Andy loved her family and her loyal feline companion, Smoky. She was so proud of her daughters and loved cultivating relationships with their friends. Andy enjoyed cooking family recipes and shopping for the ingredients was definitely part of the fun. Finding a great bargain was a lifelong pursuit. Dining out at her favorite restaurants was always a special treat, usually accompanied by vodka gimlet or brandy old fashioned. She rarely missed Jeopardy and delighted in getting Final Jeopardy right, which she did quite often. Holidays were always a cherished time, especially Christmas. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those whom she dearly missed and passed on before her. Andrea is survived by her two daughters, Kim (Diana Love) Prine and Melissa Greim; cousin, Dennis Fluckiger; sister-in-law, Jean Froland; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dolores Frydenlund; and brother, Peter Froland. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021. Memorials may be made in Andy’s name to Second Harvest Food Bank.
