Nyawic Choul Hoth

MADISON - Nyawic C. Hoth, age 59, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on Jan. 1, 1962. She married Peter Hoth. Together they raised their six wonderful children. On April 22, 1991, Nyawic and her family immigrated from South Sudan, coming to the United States. Nyawic was very compassionate and caring, she always looked out for others before herself. She loved helping others and worked as a caregiver for 20 years, treating those she worked with as part of her family. Nyawic loved thrift shopping, always happy to find a good deal and new pieces of jewelry to add to her collection. She had a green thumb and she loved to garden, especially flowers, and she took very much pride in keeping the outside of the family home looking nice and very tidy. She was very active within the Sudanese community here in Madison, helping welcome and adjust new members of the community to their new surroundings, while also helping her family back home in Sudan. Nyawic is survived by her husband, Peter; two daughters, Nyakim Hoth and Ngunar Rotar; three sons, Gai Ker Hoth, Chol Hoth and Tadros Hoth; sister, Nyaroni Choul; two grandsons, Jovan Pierre and Jaquan Pierre; and granddaughter, Layla Lewis. She is also survived by many friends and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter, Nyagoa Hoth. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021. Burial will follow at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Friday.
