Obituary
MADISON/STOUGHTON-Glenda Sue Carryl, age 72, of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on Sept. 5, 1949, in Richland Center, the daughter of Paul and Giffordena (Ewers) Hendricks. Glenda graduated from Richland Center High School class of 1967.
Glenda began her working career with Woodman's in the bakery department when they opened their first store in Madison and retired in 2004. Glenda was a very creative person. She started many clubs, including card making, rubber stamping and a book club. Glenda held classes and had a gift shop called Inspirations in her barn. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, garage sales and auctions, antiquing and had many booths at the Columbus Antique Mall. Glenda was proud to be a Breast Cancer survivor, and she also supported the PBS Foundation and contributed to many life-changing events for family and friends.
Glenda is survived by sister, LaDon Satterlee; brother, Paul (Sheila) Hendricks; nephew, Jim (Angie) Hendricks; and niece, Lori (Jim) Becker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Carryl; and brother-in-law, Larry Satterlee.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. A luncheon will follow the service. My very sincere sympathies to Glenda's family. I am so fortunate to have known Glenda and to have shared many good times with her. She hosted our stamp club known as the Rubber Band for a good 20 years. I'll never forget the happy, creative memories we shared. You're gone but never forgotten. My condolences to your family. Glenda's wry wit will surely be missed. I think of her, especially these fall months, as I put out holiday decorations for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her generous, creative spirit lives on in many homes around the area.

I cut Glenda's hair for many years. I always enjoyed her sense of humor. Each holiday I would receive a unique, handmade card and other gifts throughout the year. She will be missed. She left this earth way too soon. My condolences to her family.
