Obituary
MONONA- Joseph Fredrick Waite, of Monona, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at UW Hospital from complications from COVID. He was born to Henry and Ruth (Ryer) Waite. Joe worked at Oscar Mayer for over 20 years, retiring in 2005.
Joe was a very well-liked man with a great sense of humor. It seemed to be Joe’s gift to the find a reason to crack jokes and share laughter in most situations. Taking care of his grand dogs was something he enjoyed daily. Anytime a family member needed help with any job or task, Joe was always ready and willing to do what needed to be done.
Joe is survived by four children, Joseph (Stacy) Waite, their children, Haley, David, Amanda, Cheyenne and Jake Waite; Adam Waite, his child, Kyle Waite; Patrick (Holly) Waite, their children, Kaden, Aiden, Lucas, Lucy, Miles and Maisy Waite; and Kaleena (Tim Alexander) Waite, her son, Kian Bernal; his ex-wife and close friend, Kathy Waite; brother, Bill (Connie) Waite; and two sisters, Kay Waite and Elaine D'Amore. He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Ruth Waite; brother-in-law, Sal D'Amore; brother, Leroy (Char) Waite; sister, Lois Waite; father-in-law, Ron Starkey; mother-in-law, Dee Starkey; sister-in-law, Laura Laundrie; and two other family members, Juan Bernal and Brett Marking.
A celebration of life will be held at BREAKWATER, 6308 Inland Way, Monona, on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. All friends and family that are fully vaccinated are welcome to celebrate with us.

Even though Joe was my Uncle (my Mom's - Lois Waite Berg - youngest brother) we were not that different in age. I would see him at Grandma & Grandpa Waites for holiday dinners. Saw him again at the Waite reunion at our farm a few years ago and got to meet his son. Our sympathies & prayers on his passing to all the family. Andy & Vicky Berg Duoss

I was so sad to see Joe had passed away. He was an amazing father , grandfather and ex husband. He was the glue for his family and the void he will leave will behind saddens me deeply. I am sure he is enjoying a huge glass of red wine and will always be looking after you. My thoughts are with you all.
