Marguerite Lucey

BLACK EARTH - Marguerite M. “Peg” Lucey, age 93, of Black Earth, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021. She was born on May 9, 1928, in Mazomanie, and was the daughter of Happy and Mary (Parrell) Orcutt. Peg was united in marriage to Dean Lucey in August 1950. Together they raised six children while farming in the Black Earth Valley. Peg was an excellent seamstress and quilter and enjoyed watching the Badgers, Packers and Brewers. She loved her crossword puzzles and her trips to Ho-Chunk. Peg also enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports. She retired from Wisconsin Heights High School after working there for over 30 years. Peg was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Dean. She is survived by her children, Mike Lucey, Sue Lucey (Don Glover), Laurie (Jim) Jeffery, Kevin (Kate) Lucey, Colleen (Dennis) Hamilton and Kim (Brett) Holler. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erik Jeffery, Megan (Craig) Bruno, Erin Lucey (Sam Williams), Spencer (Liz) Hamilton, Mason Lucey (Hailey Klar), Kelsey Jeffery (Ryan Schmidt), Tayler (Alex) Wille and Casey (Selena) Hamilton; and great-grandchildren, Trey and Reed Wille. A private family ceremony at the gravesite is scheduled. There will be a celebration of Peg’s long life with the date yet to be determined. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of doctors and nurses at the Sauk Prairie Hospital for taking good care of Mom, Grandma and GG Lucey.
