Steven Welnetz

MADISON - Steven Trae Welnetz, age 21, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021. He was born on July 29, 2000, in Fond du Lac, the son of Steven Welnetz and Iris Garcia (Guzman). Steven graduated from MATC in Madison and worked as an entrepreneur. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and he enjoyed new adventures and traveling. He was loving and kind and had the biggest heart. Steven started a clothing line business with his longtime friend, Shaun McGrath, called BrokeBoyz. He was a loving son to his mother and his life to goal was to a make sure his mom was cared and loved for. Steven is survived by his father, Steven (Annette) Welnetz; mother, Iris Garcia and her fiancé, Simon; brothers, Dominic Welnetz , Damian Guzman and Marcus Guzman; grandparents, Juan Ortegon, Catalina Alba and Francis (Harriet) Welnetz; uncles, Michael (Alexandra) Olson, Jacob Ortegon, Matthew Ortegon and his girlfriend, Amanda, and Joshua Ortegon; his Partner in Crime, his loving cousin, Natalia Olson; his loving girlfriend, Mayra Serate; all his cousins; and his dearest friends who were more than friends but brothers. He was preceded in death by his longtime friends/brothers, Michael Pisano, Jr., and Rose Benzel. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021. A graveside service will follow at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Memorials may be gifted in Steven’s name to the family.
