Elizabeth A. Oldenburg

Madison - Elizabeth A. “Liz” Oldenburg, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and best friend, passed away surrounded by her family and loved ones, on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, after being in remission for five years. She was 68 years old, born on Sept. 22, 1953, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Rudolph and Patricia (Stewart) Erickson. Elizabeth graduated from Mount Horeb High School. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Oldenburg on March 20, 1982. Liz enjoyed a career as an office manager, working at a variety of businesses, before retiring from the Masonic Lodge. She was a member of the Order of the Amaranth and enjoyed volunteering to help their organization. Liz was an animal lover; she especially enjoyed her pets, Holly, Sadie and Keekee. In her free time, she enjoyed planting flowers, bowling, cribbage, backgammon and euchre. Liz was very social and always looked forward to the weekend get-a-ways to the family trailer on Lake Pepin. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy and she truly enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas and spending time with her family. Liz is survived by her husband, Benjamin; son, Lance (Kelly) Way; daughter, April Way; grandchildren, Dylan (Mariah) Way, Dalton Way, Cody Frohmader and Austin Frohmader; great-grandchildren, Fraya and Athea Frohmader; and siblings, Mark (Mary) Erickson, Karin (Larry) Austin, Theodore (Leslie) Erickson, Daniel (Karla) Donohue, Kathleen (Mike) McWilliams and Greg (Marian) Erickson. She was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Amos Erickson; mother, Patricia Ann Donohue; step-father, Neil Donohue; and brother, Eric Erickson.
