I went to Memorial and graduated in 1989. I never had Mr. B, but my oldest brother did, and my twin sister did. George was the coolest guy, and even though I didn't have him as a teacher, he was so much fun. He called me by my last name, and loved to tease. I submitted a fictional story to WIBA-FM in 1989 to win a 'Classic Album Upgrade' on Sly in the Morning's radio show. I mentioned walking to Mr. Bulovsky's Underwater Basket Weaving class as part of my story. It was read on the air, and that day George playfully threw me up against a locker and told me he didn't need any help getting himself in trouble. But I did get a new LP out of the deal! My oldest brother Ben 'repaired' George's lawnmower in a power mechanics class in the 70s, but when he put it back together he put the blade on backwards, so it didn't cut anything. George never let ME forget that, almost blaming me in a fun way that my brother had botched the repair. My twin sister Chris had George for chemistry. For some reason they had to remember the letter sequence 'RGB' and George was looking for ways to help kids remember that. Chris shouted out, "Run George Bulovsky!" He was amused, but would never let on that he was. George touched so many lives. He was one of the nicest teachers roaming the halls at Memorial. Everyone loved him. I am so sorry for your family's loss. It is never easy. I do hope you can smile and remember how many people he influenced and how he made learning fun. Chuck Hable, Oshkosh, JMM class of 89

To the family of George: We live on Maywood Road in Monona and for several years, George and his son would walk past our house, almost daily. Without fail, George would give a big friendly wave or share a story and engage in some friendly banter. We would look forward to those encounters with George and his son, who would just smile and let his dad handle the daily greeting. It was a highlight of our day for quite some time. Then, we noticed that we were no longer seeing them walk past our house and we felt such a sense of missing our daily laugh or smile with those two. We often wondered what had changed, but we kept those memories near and dear to our hearts. George and his son were “walking” examples of how a simple, yet kind gesture or greeting can really make someone’s day. We will forever remember the father/son duo as our Maywood Rd morning greeters. Rest In Peace, George and thank you for leading the way when it comes to random acts of kindness. We noticed and we will make every effort to pay it forward in your honor. Todd and Chris on Maywood Road in Monona

I have such great memories of "Mr. Bulovsky" when I visited him for parent-teacher conferences for my son. He was a caring person who put you at ease and knew all of his students well. He was known as a great and much-loved teacher. I also know him as someone that cared about his family deeply. I am sorry for the great loss of this wonderful man.

As a Former student of Mr Bulovskys, my favorite memory was him giving an exam, walking out the door and saying “sharing is caring.” Truly a gem. -Kim Reay Waldon

Mr. Bulovsky, you taught with passion, creativity, and humor. You made a difference in the lives of so many others and because of you, science was one of my favorite hours of the day. Your former student, "Muscles"
