STOUGHTON - Vanis Vanderpoel passed of natural causes on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, at the age of 86. Born Nov. 13, 1934, in Shawano, WI., to Theodore and Idelia, she was the youngest of five children. Vanis was a proud mother of four children, Therese (David) Hayes, Peggy (Mark) Petersen, Ann Marie (Mark) Lonergan and John (Meliessa) Ogrodowski. She was grandmother to 10, and great-grandmother to four. Vanis was married to Ronald Ogrodowski for 45 years and raised her family in Milwaukee and Grafton. Vanis had a long career in human resources, enjoyed retirement in Arizona, then returned home to Wisconsin. She inspired those close to her with her passion for cooking and piano as well as a love for word puzzles, musicals, movies, books, knitting, and crocheting. A celebration of life will be held at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
