Robert O. "Bob" Kitto

MADISON / STEVENS POINT - Robert O. "Bob" Kitto, age 95, formerly of Madison, late of Stevens Point, died on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center. Bob was born on Sept. 6, 1926, to the late Owen and Meta (Paschen) Kitto in Kaukauna. He grew up and attended the local schools and graduated from Kaukauna High School. Following high school, Bob enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged. He held memberships at the VFW and American Legion. Bob graduated from Michigan State University and then earned his master’s degree in special education from UW-Superior. He taught special education in the Madison area for several years until he became a principal in Madison. He was an active Boy Scout leader for years in Madison. Bob married Lois Laughlin on March 30, 1991. They were happily married for 30 years. Prior to this, he was married to Carol Schley until her death in 1984. Bob enjoyed woodworking, walleye fishing and construction, building his own home. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He played trumpet for the Grenadeers along with playing bugle for funeral military honors for the VFW Post 10262. Bob is survived by wife, Lois; children, John (Julia Sheyanova) Kitto, Jan (Steve) Ferry and Jody (Len) Schlobohm; step-children, Kevin, Maren, Paul, Dane, Peter and Robyn; grandchildren, Eric, Leanne, Katie, Rob and Cassie; step-grandchildren, Alex, Noah, Sam, Charlie, Owen and Coco; and great-grandchildren, David, Ethan, Alex and Robert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Meta; and first wife, Carol. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 600 Wilshire Blvd., Stevens Point. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Bob will be entombed privately at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.
