Obituary

MADISON - Harvey M. Rohde, age 69, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Sylvan Crossing in Fitchburg. He was born on March 14, 1952, in Madison, the son of Edward and Betty (McChesney) Rohde. Harvey was raised in Madison and married Karen Frederick on Oct. 15, 1977, in Madison. Harvey was a loving father, grandfather and devoted husband. He loved golfing, traveling, going to movies and was an avid football fan of the Packers and Badgers. Harvey was a successful insurance agent for over 30 years. His work and the relationships he built were important to him and brought him much happiness. He had a true love for the City of Madison with many cherished memories of growing up on Regent Street and Rohde’s Steak House, which was owned by his parents. Harvey was an incredibly loving and generous person who lived for his family. He will be deeply missed. Harvey is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Katelyn and Meghan Rohde; granddaughter, Talia Saada; brother, Edward "Bud" (Kathy) Rohde; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 12 noon on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the start of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made in Harvey's name to the Wisconsin Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Karen, my deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. Harvey was a great agent and a good mentor. He loved the insurance business and his clients. He had a good work ethic....showing by example on how to call on new clients every day. Rest in peace Harvey.
