Linda Brown

CROSS PLAINS- Linda Lou Brown, age 73, of Cross Plains, passed away on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. She was born on Nov. 15, 1947, in Madison, the daughter of Melvin and Ellen (McMahan) Baumgartner. Linda graduated from Verona High School in 1965. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Brown on Aug. 12, 1967, in Verona. Linda worked as a checker for Terry's Piggly Wiggly, retiring in 2013. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Linda was a common face in the community. She was a member of many card club groups and sang with the Silver Tones and St. Francis Xavier church choir. Linda loved spending time with her family-especially their adventures camping and being near or on the water. She adored her role as grandma and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. Linda had a “family” of friends and neighbors over the years who provided her with extraordinary love and support. Her immense amount of love and laughter will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Linda is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Todd) Shea and Melanie (Chester) Tourdot; sister, Karen (Jeff) Erickson; grandchildren, Briana Shea, Brooke Shea, and Eagan Tourdot; brother-in-law, Roger (Judie) Brown; sisters-in-laws, Sharon (Jeff) Fauerbach and Kay (Carl) Behn; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brown; parents; and brothers, Stephen Baumgartner and Mark Baumgartner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, with Father Scott Jablonski presiding. A visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
