Kathleen L Angerman

STOUGHTON - On Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, Kathleen Louise Angerman, loving mom to her children, passed away peacefully at the age of 77. Kathleen Louise Angerman was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Oak Ridge, Tenn. She graduated from Brandywine High School in Wilmington, Del., and attended Brandywine Community College. Kathleen worked at Atlas Manufacturing in the office. She met Bredt Wilhelmsen and they married on Jan. 8, 1966. After Bredt’s career in the U.S. Navy, they eventually made their way back to Racine, Wis., and eventually moved to Elkhart Lake where they raised their two children, Robert and Jennifer. She was a homemaker, worked as a seamstress out of her home and volunteered for the PTA. As her children grew older, she worked as a bank teller, and for Sargento Cheese. In 1986, she was blessed with meeting her daughter, Marianne, whom she had graciously given up for adoption in 1964. In 2000, Kathleen moved to Verona, Wis., where she took a job as a bank teller, retiring in 2003. She had a passion for all things creative - sewing doll clothes for her grandchildren, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, stamping cards and scrapbooking to name a few. She was very much involved in helping to raise her grandchildren, picking them up from school and taking them out to dinner once a week. Kathleen enjoyed making cards with her friends monthly at the Verona Area Senior Center and lunches with the Red Hat ladies. She had a strong faith in God, and was a member of McFarland Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bible studies and reading devotionals as well as faith inspired stories. In 2010, she was diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer and went through surgery along with rounds of chemotherapy and doctor appointments. She was always reading and studying to look at new research and drugs surrounding her cancer. She fought continually to find a cure and was always testing her doctor to see if there was something new. She’d excitedly tell him what she had found and she’d dig out her health notebook to share. She was so fond of him, she even sewed bowties for him, since those were his favorite to wear. Kathleen is survived by her son, Robert (Kathy) Wilhelmsen of Cottage Grove; daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) of Stoughton; daughter, Marianne (Tim); grandchildren, Chassity, Erik and Naomi; as well as very special friends, Deanna Rego; and “adopted granddaughter,” Alayna Rego. She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi and Albert Angerman; her brother, Carl Angerman; and daughter, Baby Girl (Lisa) Wilhelmsen. The family would like to thank UW Hospital Carbone Cancer Center and Dr. Campbell for all of their kind support and care, as well as all the prayers from family and friends over the years. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Verona Cemetery. A gathering after the burial will be announced at the service.
