Madison - Lynda A. Collins, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at University Hospital. She was born on June 16, 1945, in Bremerton, Wash., the daughter of Lyle Prenslow and Rae (Chiddix) Prenslow. Lynda was raised in Yakima, Wash. She graduated from Central Washington University. On Aug. 26, 1967, she married Tom Collins in Yakima.
Prior to retirement, Lynda worked as an elementary school teacher and as an administrative assistant for the church. In her free time, she was an accomplished pianist, expert craftsman, a lover of antiquing, an avid reader, had a wicked sense of humor, a phenomenal chef who provided cookies to the whole community and beat cancer four times. Lynda also had the pleasure of assisting her husband in planting new churches in five different states.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Tom; sons, Jason (Charis) Collins and Gregory (Laurie) Collins; five grandchildren, Carter Gross, Mackenzie Boyle, Jack Boyle, Ellie Collins and Owain Collins; brother, Ken (Edna) Prenslow; nephew, David (Kim) Prenslow; and special friends, Linda (Paul) Koptak, Faye (Dave) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandchild, Hope Gross.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at 3 p.m. at ARBOR COVENANT CHURCH, 2509 McDivitt Road, Madison, with the Rev. Peter J. Morris presiding. To view a livestream of the service via Zoom, please use the following link:

Tom and family, we are so saddened by the news of your loss of your dear wife/mother. Many in Owatonna have very fond memories of your lives here at Christ Community Covenant Church and in the community. We also have special memories of our paths crossing with you Tom over the years with the Anderson’s, a trip to Colorado and fun times when you could join with our Lutefisk dinner group!
