Obituary
MOUNT HOREB - David J. Heim, age 78, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on April 19, 1943, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Hegge) Heim.
Dave graduated from Middleton High School in 1961. In his youth, he was a Lettering Athlete in Football, Basketball and Baseball. Following high school, he attended Madison Business College and then Madison Area Technical College. He married the love of his life, Audrey Brumm, on April 24, 1965. Dave proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked as an American Family Insurance Agent in the Madison area for over 45 years before his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, bicycling, boating, waterskiing, fishing, camping and spending time with his and Audrey’s Morgan horses.
David is survived by his wife, Audrey; son, Patrick (Angela) Heim; daughter, Tracy (Jeffrey) Adas; grandchildren, Emily Adas (Sam Arendt), Nolan Adas, Rhiannon Heim and Alese Heim; brother, Thomas (Karen) Heim; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Orr; brother-in-law, George (Kathy) Brumm; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Harvey Orr.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at THE EMPLOYER GROUP, 1000 Solar Court, Verona, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021.

Dave was one of my hero favorite people. He saved me when I was young. I was falling down our well and Dave grabbed my wrist as I fell. We were neighbors. There were lots of kids and we all played for hours on end daily. I have fond memories of many kids and Dave holds a special place in my heart.

Dave and Audrey have been "Morgan" friends since I first stopped in to see what kind of horses those were in their pasture!! He loved going on their cruises and sharing the photos and tales from their various trips. He also loved being a "grandpa" and keeping up with what the young ones were up to.
