Kenneth Larson

MADISON - Kenneth E. Larson passed away from cancer at home on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at 78 years old. He was born on Dec. 11, 1942, in Madison, Wis., to Charles H. and Helen E. Larson. He graduated from Madison West High School in 1960 and married Kay Schwenn on April 25, 1964, in Oregon, Wis. They had two daughters and two grandsons, Kris and her son, Hunter Schultz, Kelli and her son, Trevor Sellers and his partner, Rachel, and son, Santana. Ken spent his working years in the grocery business at Sentry Foods and Woodman's. He was a member of Midvale Community Lutheran Church and Madison Elks Lodge No. 410. He enjoyed 26 years of retirement, 25 of them wonderful years, traveling, gardening, and watching grandsons playing baseball and football. Survivors include his wife, daughters, grandsons, granddog, Rudy, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws, Ed and Jan Lawry and Lois Linnerud. He is further survived by long-time friends, bowling partners, and many wonderful neighbors. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, half-brother, sister, two brothers, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, with Pastor Katie Baardseth presiding. Burial will be held at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the start of the service on Monday. What Cancer Cannot Do: “Cancer is so limited…It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot destroy peace, It cannot kill friendships, It cannot suppress memories, It cannot silence courage, It cannot invade the soul, It cannot steal eternal life, It cannot conquer the Spirit.” Ken adds that cancer will not erode the faith and love in this family.
