Obituary

MADISON - Gina Ann Flynn, age 55, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at UW Hospital. She was born on March 17, 1966, in Madison, the daughter of Philip and Eloise (Mott) Emordeno. Gina graduated from Madison West High School in 1984. She married Robert Flynn on July 3, 2005, in Marshall, Wis., by the Rev. James Kolosky. Gina worked as a CNA for UW Hospital for approximately eight years. She was recognized for her speed, efficiency and leadership qualities by not only the UW, but outside organizations. One of which offered a management position running a facility that housed and cared for Traumatic Brain Injury patients in Portage. With the support of her husband and family, Gina accepted the position from a company called Infinite Ability. The family then bought a home in Portage and stayed there for the next nine years. Gina's father’s health declined from cancer and he could no longer care for his wife, Marilyn, and himself, so Gina found herself traveling to Madison more frequently in order to assist with her father's care. The family moved back to Madison to be closer to family. Gina continued in the healthcare field and was an asset wherever she went. Gina enjoyed boating, tanning, being with family and life. Gina is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Shawna Tantillo; stepson, Devon Flynn; daughter, Shannen Krueger; stepdaughter, Autumn Flynn; grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan and Mason Rompre; brother, Mike (Faye) Emordeno; sisters, Linda (David) Mair, Lana Swiggum and Lynn (Dale) Carlson; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepmother, Marilyn Emordeno. Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, with the Rev. Katya Ouchakof presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the start of the service on Friday. Memorials in Gina’s name may be made to the family. My Precious Precious Baby Sister. You are so greatly missed. I am so very grateful to have been able to spend the last several months with you almost every day. You now reside at the place of Truth. You see all things. You reside in the arms of Jesus. It was beautiful for me to see the unfolding of your relationship to our Loving Creator. You knew exactly where you would be going when leaving this place. I know you are no longer afraid. You are no longer in pain. You are no longer alone either. You my Sweet Strong Sister, are Home. I will see you soon Gina. Always Eternally Grateful to be Chosen as Your Big Sister, Forever Yours, Lana Jean.
