WINDSOR / MADISON - Mark Gilmore Liddicoat died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021.
Mark was born on March 8, 1947, to Gilmore and Joyce (Alton) in Linden, Wis. The youngest of seven children moved to Madison, graduating from East High School. Mark worked nearly 30 years for the Madison Public Schools, Van Hise, Toki and Spring Harbor while serving on the EAP Board nearly 20 years. Mark and Jean loved traveling and spending their winters in Florida.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Trager), of nearly 30 years, married Oct. 26, 1991; his children, Tracy (Lonnie Hauge) and Tim Liddicoat; and grandchildren, Lance (Emily) Hauge and Taylor (John) Gundlach. Mark was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Logan Gundlach. He is further survived by brothers, Paul (Sally), Peter (Jennifer Olsen); and sister, Donna (Royce Lindauer).
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alton (Mary Lou); and sisters, Barb and Peggy (Bob Nelson).
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of service on Saturday. A private burial will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I was fortunate enough to know Mark when he lived on E. Gorham St. during the 60's. The Imhoff boys and I would visit Mark and shoot the breeze and he always played his favorite song "Rockin Robin" . Another childhood memory of some great friends. Steve Bruns

Mark and I were best friends in 5th & 6th grade in Linden. A couple things I recall were 1) when he and I stole some books from the old Pollard hotel in Linden and proceeded to bury them in his backyard (who knows what would possess two 11 y/o's to bury books in the ground!) and 2) when he sent a letter to the 7up bottling company in Madison asking for a sample and they sent a truck to the school to give a free bottle to everyone in the school (about 90 of us).
