Selma "Sally" Knaub

SHEBOYGAN/CROSS PLAINS - Selma "Sally" Knaub, age 94, of Sheboygan, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, in Cross Plains, Wis. She was born on Nov. 10, 1926, in Sheboygan, the daughter of John and Anna (Emich) Schmidt. Sally married Gottlieb "Ace" Knaub on Oct. 27, 1947, in Waukegan, Ill., and had 68 beloved years together. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Sally worked at Armira and had several part-time jobs in retail, but enjoyed most raising her children and being a mother and wife. Sally enjoyed tennis, biking, reading, and completing the daily crossword puzzle in the Sheboygan Press. After retirement, Sally volunteered at St. Nicholas Hospital gift shop. She and Ace loved to travel around the country and take the grandchildren camping. They were always seen walking the neighborhood and enjoyed visiting with friends they had met over the years. Sally is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Don) Wagner of Middleton; son, John (Kay) Knaub of Suring; daughter-in-law, Diane Knaub of Wilmington, Del.; grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) Jerome of Deforest, Ryan (Laura) Wagner of Milton, Teresa (Jim) Gallagher of Wilmington, Del., Chris (Lea) Knaub of Sussex and Erika (Paul) Hintz of Fox Point; 10 great-grandchildren, Jack, Conner, Brooklyn, Baylee, Ava, Oliver, Charlie, Max, Delaney and Quinn. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Timothy Knaub; and grandchildren, Stephanie Lake and Eric Knaub. A private service will be held. Memorials may be gifted in Sally's name to Agrace HospiceCare. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Milestone Senior Living and Agrace HospiceCare for all their loving care and support. Grandma Sally…otherwise known as Sal, Selma, Ma was a sweet, sassy and strong woman who loved to take on any challenge that came her way. Grandma shared a long life with Grandpa and they lived it to the fullest enjoying the outdoors, enjoying their family and enjoying one another. All of us grandkids remember the amazing camping trips and the everlasting fun we shared with them playing games, talking foolish and growing our special bonds with them over the years. We will always cherish those memories and remember that goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again. We love you Grandma Sally.
