Obituary
Freddie Ray Shreeves passed peacefully at home with his wife by his side on May 5, 2021. He was born March 15, 1947, to Ray and Verna Shreeves and raised in Arkansas. He then moved to California to live with his sister Clair to finish high school, and later moved to Wisconsin to live with his sister Midge. He joined the Navy and proudly served in Vietnam. After military service he lived in Wisconsin until his passing.
Fred was self-employed and established a handyman business. He loved nature, camping, photography, Wisconsin sports, a good beer, politics, his cats over the years, and his family and many great friends. He believed in social justice and equality for all and lived by those principles. But his greatest love of all, was for his wife and soulmate of 46 years, Joan.
He is survived by his wife, Joan “Jo” Schumacher-Shreeves; brothers, Bill, Ed (Linda), and Bob (Kara); sisters, Clair (Bill) Donnelley, Mary (Jack Gardner), and Shirley (Jerry) Kersey; and sister-in-law, Sharon (Rick) Shreeves, and the Schumacher sisters who considered Fred as one of their brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Verna; and brothers, Arthur and Leroy. His sister Mildred “Midge” Goad and brother Richard passed a few months after Fred.
Fred was cremated and buried at the East Wiota Lutheran Church on September 19, 2021. Vicar Myron Crawford presided over a private Family service followed with Military Honors at the grave site. He lived and loved well - He died bravely - He will be dearly missed.
