Lorraine Eleanor Fellows

MADISON/DODGEVILLE - Lorraine Fellows, age 89, of Madison, passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Friday, Sept, 3, 2021, closing on a healthful, well-lived life. She was born on Jan. 12, 1932, in Melvina, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Francis (Dick) Haselwander. Lorraine graduated from Sauk City High School. She married her one true love, Harlan Fellows on Sept. 28, 1957. Lorraine worked for the Dodgeville Elementary School for 25 years and was the mother to three children. Lorraine truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She was an admirer of nature and enjoyed going on early morning walks. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching PBS, loved bargain shopping and was always up for going out to eat. Above all else, Lorraine loved her family. She cherished spending time together, and really enjoyed being with her family at their cabin near Eagle River. Lorraine was a huge animal-lover; over the years, she had many dogs that she loved dearly. Lorraine is survived by her three children, Curt (Gerianne) Fellows of Dodgeville, Mark K. (Tammy) Fellows of Santa Fe and Laura (Tim) Strang of Waunakee; three grandsons, Mark A. Fellows, Nathan Strang and Clay Strang; four granddaughters, Taryn (Jon) Gould, Casey (Brandon) Cecil, Lindsay (Joe) Dworak and Jessica (Ben Johnson) Strang; five great-grandchildren, Evan and Jacob Gould, Brady and Logan Cecil and Penelope Dworak; and sister, Clara Doudna. Lorraine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlan; brother, Arnold Haselwander; and sister, Doranna Lucey. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Iowa County Humane Society or Fetch Wisconsin Rescue to honor her life-long love for animals.
