Obituary
MOUNT HOREB / MADISON - Ruth Marie Zwald Hocum, age 72, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on June 4, 1949, in Madison, the daughter of Albert S. and Regina E. Zwald. She married Ray Hocum on Oct. 18, 2020, at Sage Meadows Assisted Living.
Ruth attended Mount Horeb elementary, junior high and high schools where she played several instruments, including clarinet, oboe and flute. She also belonged to many organizations and clubs in school, including Brownies and Girl Scouts. She attended technical school in Indiana and worked in Thorstad Chevrolet and Don Miller body shops as office manager.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Ray Hocum; children, Teresa Suckow and Trevor Zwald; son-in-law, Duane Suckow; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Yancey; grandchildren, Kyle Connery, Tifany Louis, Regina Zwald, Zendaya Zwald and Trevor Zwald Jr.; many great-grandchildren; and aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert S. and Regina E. Zwald; and brother, Philip Zwald.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 12 noon until 1:30 pm on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021. Burial will be held at Mount Horeb Union Cemetery.

I never got to go but they put me in the obituary I love you grandma.. you were my only living grandparent you were my call on.. I miss you so much.. blue was my grandmas favorite color 💔
