Acalia Noelle Kleven
February 22, 1986 - August 27, 2021
Obituary
STEVENS POINT/VERONA- Acalia Noelle (Halverson) Kleven, age 35, of Stevens Point, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021. She was born on Feb. 22, 1986, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Terry Halverson and Vicky (Short) Rostowfske.
Acalia graduated from Verona High School in 2004. Following high school, she attended UW-Whitewater, graduating with a degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice in 2008. Acalia went on to attend law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn., earning her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2013. Later that year, she became a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Following graduation from law school, Acalia began her legal career with the State Public Defenders Office in Stevens Point. She went on to work as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with Portage County. In her role, she was a county prosecutor, working specifically in juvenile law, representing children in need of protection or services. Acalia was passionate about her work, and appreciated everyone she worked with in her office, at the courthouse and in Portage County.
Acalia had a large circle of friends, some she’d known since early childhood and others she’d known a much shorter time. She valued all of those relationships, and neither time nor distance could diminish their significance. If you were a friend of Acalia’s, you were a friend for life.
Acalia was a cherished daughter to Terry and Vicky, and a devoted and doting sister to Camden. Chandler was her soulmate and the love of her life. They were married on a beautiful day in August 2015. On Aug. 28, 2017, they welcomed Quinn Eloise, and Charles Palmer was born on Jan. 17, 2020, completing their family. Acalia’s greatest joy was being a mom to Quinn and Charlie, and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family.
Acalia is survived by her husband, Chandler; her daughter, Quinn; her son, Charlie; her father, Terry Halverson; her mother, Vicky (Mark) Rostowfske; her brother, Camden (Jaclyn) Halverson and their son, Liam James; her grandmother, Betty Dietzman; her nieces, Mariah and Oksana Kleven; and her godparents, Rick Short, Michael Short and Renae Stafslien. She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Palmer Dietzman; her paternal grandparents, Merlin and Shirley Halverson; and by Chandler’s paternal grandparents, Richard and Margaret Charles.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021. Guests may begin arriving at 1 p.m., and family will greet visitors before and after the service until 4 p.m.

Acalia was a fighter for Justice in the courtroom and a passionate person about life, her career, family and friends. I was so happy to have known Acalia and loved speaking to her about her role protecting children in Portage County. Acalia will be missed by all who worked with her, and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family and especially husband and young children on her untimely passing.
