Peggy S. Tucker

SUN PRAIRIE - Peggy Sue Tucker, age 87, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021. Peg was born on Jan. 17, 1934, the second daughter born to John and Mona Wolfram. She was a 1952 graduate of Portage High School. Peg treasured her musical family and made dear lifelong friends from her childhood days in Portage. Peg wed the love of her life, Thomas A. Tucker, on June 26, 1954. They were blessed with four children, three sons and one daughter. Peg and Tom lived in Wisconsin Dells, Appleton and finally, Sun Prairie in 1963. She was a strong, supportive and loving mother. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, volunteered with Girl Scouts, Methodist Church Women’s Circle and the Sun Prairie Food Pantry. Teaming up with her husband, Tommy Tucker Vacuum & Janitorial grew into a well-respected business in Madison. Peg and Tom enjoyed many adventures, both with their children and in later years. They traveled to Ireland, Italy, Germany, England, Mexico, Canada and throughout the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska. They wintered in Florida, fishing, enjoying the beach and dining out with friends and family. Peg enjoyed reading, sewing and interior decorating. She loved Christmas and summers at the cottage. She made cherished memories with each grandchild. The love shared with her great-grandchildren added more joy to her life. Peg will be remembered for her fortitude. She faced cancer with grace and faith. Her positive spirit will forever guide us through challenges. She is an angel to watch over us and forever dearly missed. Peg is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Timothy (Diana), Tracey (Jerry) Lust and Tom (Kathy); grandchildren, Natasha (Stephen) Jones, Behren (Tonia), Tom (Calin) Hunter, Cody (Miao) Hunter, Angie (John) Cotter and Jackie; great-grandchildren, Emberly, Charlotte and Haven Jones, Shae, Liam and Finley Tucker, Amelia and Zola Hunter, and Chloe Cotter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Terry; and her sister, Dawn. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peg’s honor to the American Cancer Society - Madison Chapter. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.
