For us, the memories of baseball games, picnics, camping, sledding and long treks into the Pennsylvania woods on cold, snowy days to cut down trees are just a few of the wonderful times we were lucky enough to share with all of you. We can still remember Darryl using geometry to figure where the top of the tree would land when cut.
The Luzi clan on the west coast send love and remembrances to Darryl's loved ones.

My family shared a lot of wonderful times with the Craig’s while I was growing up. We had so many shared adventures and also ordinary, lovely family times. I remember Darryl’s joie de vivre, whether he was laughing while setting up a tent in the rain while we kids huddled inside it; driving down those windy Pennsylvania mountain roads fast, singing with the radio and teaching us all the chorus; or helping my dad ice over the patio steps to create the world’s most dangerous toboggan race course. I remember him as fearless and funny and it was obvious even to my kid-eyes that he loved being a dad. I’m so very sorry for your loss.

I was surprised to read of Darryl's passing in Sunday's paper. I attended Caldwell graded school with the Craigs and was in his brother Randy's class. I remember the family as being hard working people that would help anyone. A favorite memory was a hayride on their farm for our Methodist Youth group. We had an egg toss game with real duck eggs! I have lived in Stoughton not far from UW for 40+ years and been involved with the School of Human Ecology activities. It was exciting to read about Darryl's professorship. I'm sure he was a positive influence on many students. Also, his sense of humor will not be forgotten. My condolences to his wife, children and family. I will check out his gravesite in Caldwell when I visit my brother Russell.

Sometimes memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheeks. By the Star in the East, we have but to keep the faith and we too shall join the loved ones gone before who have lived a perfect life.
