Bonnie Marie McAllister

OREGON - Bonnie Marie McAllister, age 66, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021. She was born on Oct. 3, 1954, in Madison, the daughter of Arthur and Genevieve (Hensen) Sukowatey. Bonnie graduated from Waunakee High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Ray McAllister on October 11 in 1986. Bonnie worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation. She was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church. Family was everything to Bonnie. She treasured the times spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren, her pride and joy. She had a passion for genealogy and was committed to connecting extended family. She loved spending time in northern Wisconsin at the cabin and camping on Mirror Lake. She treasured all the moments and laughter shared with her brothers playing cards and at her annual “sister weekends.” She had a special passion for monkeys, shopping and crafts. Bonnie demonstrated great strength and perseverance in overcoming her physical limitations through the years. While she had to give up many of her favorite pastimes, she always provided a listening ear to friends and family in need. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Ray; daughter, Angela (Dan) Wolbrink; son, Heath (Amy) McAllister; grandson, Liam McAllister; four granddaughters, Erin McAllister, Emilia Wolbrink, Annika Wolbrink and Elise Wolbrink; two brothers, Roger (Bonnie) Sukowatey and Gary (Cindy) Sukowatey; and two sisters, Ruth (Dan) Hiller and Sue (Ron) Cone. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Arlene McMorran; and brother, Stanley Sukowatey. A Mass will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
