MIDDLETON - James Cody Cox, age 63, of Middleton, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on Jan. 14, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Jim and Carolyn (Braun) Cox.
James graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1977. He attended UW-Madison and graduated with honors from Northeastern with a degree in mathematics. On May 30, 2001, he married the former Nancy (Perkins) Kniffin.
James is survived by his wife, Nancy; brother, Andy Cox; sister-in-law, Gloria Flathom of Oak Lawn, Ill.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at ORCHARD RIDGE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 1501 Gilbert Road, Madison, at 12 noon on Saturday, April 30, 2022, with the Rev. Ken Pennings presiding. Family and friends who wish to view services via LIVE STREAM may visit James’ obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com and click on the Live Webcast link at 12 noon on Saturday. A visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
