Larry Burton Freng

FITCHBURG - Larry B. Freng, age 78, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at Agrace HospiceCare after living with dementia. He was born on Aug. 12, 1943, in Warren, Minn., the son of Nels and Lillian (Mohn) Freng. Larry graduated from Madison East High School in 1961 and Madison Business College years later. He was united in marriage to Gloria Holz on Jan. 28, 1972, in Black Creek, Wis. Larry worked as an accountant for Badger Coach Bus Services for 33 years, retiring in 2001. He was on the board of the Wisconsin Amputee Golf Association, in addition to also playing in their annual golf outing for 35 years. Larry enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing softball, making model cars, playing sheepshead with his buddies, and camping with his family. He also loved working on, and driving, his collector cars. Despite his physical disabilities, he never let that get in his way, and always had a smile on his face. He was a wonderful dad, husband, brother, and papa. Larry liked to spend his free time on the "bubble" at Alt’n Bach's where he was an avid fan of watching all Packers, Badgers and Brewers games. GO PACK! Larry is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Craig (Bridget) Freng and Erika (Kyle) Olson; grandsons, Joseph Freng, William Freng, Patrick Freng and Jack Freng; granddaughter, Emma Olson; and sister, Dianne (Larry) Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lynell (Bill) Johnson. A celebration of life will be held outside at QUIVEY’S GROVE, 6261 Nesbitt Road, Fitchburg, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021. Please dress in “Larry attire" - (“casual").
