LaVerne Odell Peterson

MOUNT HOREB - LaVerne O. Peterson, age 90, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at Nazareth Health in Stoughton. LaVerne was born on Feb. 14, 1931, in Black Earth, to Martin and Ruth (Severson) Peterson. On April 20, 1968, he married Carol Nelson in Blue Mounds. Together they had two children, Mark and Sara. LaVerne worked for the Township of Blue Mounds for 30 years. He was always willing to help anyone that needed something. Dad’s favorite things were John Deere tractors, mowing lawns, polka music, wordsearch puzzles, and spending time with family. He was a member of West Blue Mounds Lutheran Church. LaVerne is survived by his daughter, Sara (Chad) Frenzel of Albany; brother, Kermit (Dorothy) Peterson of Verona; sister, Donna (Ernie) Wampfler of Iowa; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, in 2017; son, Mark in 2010; brother, Vernon in 2019; brothers, Ralph Peterson and Clayton Peterson; and sisters, Adeline Amble, Mavis Blum, Bernadine Sherwod, Clarice Hessel and Doreen Thompson.
