Jack Davis

OREGON/PEKIN, Ill. - Jack D. Davis, age 85, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, at Four Winds Manor. He was born on July 24, 1935, in Chariton, Iowa, the son of Phillip and Emma (Hope) Davis. Jack graduated from Peoria Central High School in Peoria, Ill. He married Janet Lewis in Peoria and later divorced. Jack worked as a Tool and Die Maker. His career included many years at Hiram Walker and H. Felde Tool and Machine Co., retiring at age 65. Jack loved to golf, fish, hunt, paint, and take naps. He enjoyed photographing wildlife and birds and had a special interest in Sand Hill Cranes and feeding squirrels. Most of all, Jack cherished his time with his family and friends. Jack is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Bruce) Davis; grandchildren, Emily Davis, Luke Davis and Olivia (Zach) Olson; sister-in-law, Judy Pierce; nieces and nephews, Kim (Milo) Burke, Matt (Judith) Davis, Aaron (Nichole) Davis; great-nieces and nephews, Raleigh, Andrew, Annalee, and Adalee Davis; step-daughter, Kathy Saunders; step-son, Michael (Kathy) Copelen; and step grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Nattier, Jonathan (Kalene) Cunningham, Stacey Potts, Elizabeth Godinez, Allen Copelen, Michael Chase and Stephanie Copelen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Emma Davis; long-time partner, Nancy Shoultz; ex-wife, Janet Davis; brother, Robert “Bob” Davis; and step-son, Patrick Copelen. A memorial gathering will be held at HILLCREST BIBLE CHURCH, 752 E. Netherwood St., Oregon, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021. Stories will be shared at 6:30 p.m. at the church. A burial will be held at SWAN LAKE MEMORIAL GARDEN CEMETERY, 4601 W. War Memorial Dr., Peoria, Ill., at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
