Milla Marie Swenson

STOUGHTON - Milla Marie Swenson, age 92, lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at her home. She was born on Aug. 9, 1931, in Stoughton, the daughter of Oscar and Marie (Offerdahl) Swenson.

Milla enjoyed getting out for walks and rides in the car, especially during the Christmas season when she could see lights around town and at the airport. A true Norwegian, Milla loved her "Norwegian coffee." She enjoyed watching TV, especially Lawrence Welk. In her younger years, she played the accordion.

Milla was always a hard worker and caregiver, often taking care of her siblings and her parents. Spending time with her family brought her much joy. No one ever left her house without a hug and a "thank you." Mila was a kind, loving and compassionate soul who will be dearly missed.

Milla is survived by her two brothers, Donald (Sue) Swenson and Oscar Swenson Jr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including her lifelong friends, Joanne Harried and Helen Leikness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Marie Swenson; six sisters, Elizabeth Cornell, Alma Cuccia, Joan Lange, Ruth Edmunds, Evelyn Sullivan and Barbara Chandler; and three brothers, Elmer Swenson, William Swenson and Ellsworth Swenson.

A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
