Obituary

MADISON - Donald S. Braith, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on July 10, 1940, in Madison, the son of Stanley and Jeanette Braith.


Don graduated from Madison Central High School in 1958 and served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea in 1959. Don married Carol Eberle on May 8, 1965, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He worked at Gisholt Mechanic Company and Madison Gas & Electric for 29 years until his retirement in 2000.


Don enjoyed playing cards, especially in poker and euchre tournaments. He was an avid Wisconsin Badgers football, basketball, and Green Bay Packers fan. He loved spending time with his daughter, Julie, on trips, specifically to Las Vegas! He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and VFW Post No. 7591.


Don will be missed by his daughter, Julie (Matt Murphy) Braith; stepbrothers, Earl (Sue) Hamm and William Braith; stepsisters, Debbie Morris and Carolyn Niehoff; nephew Brian Hamm; and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Braith; parents, Jeanette and Stanley; stepfather, Al Hamm; stepmother, Harriett Braith; and stepbrothers, Albert "Skipper" Hamm and Carl Braith.


A special thank you to the staff at All Saints Memory Care and Agrace HospiceCare for their care and support of Don and his family.
