Peggy L. Berger

MAZOMANIE - Peggy Lyn Berger, age 57, of Mazomanie, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on July 25, 1963, in Madison, the daughter of Stephen and Arlis (Downing) Francis. Peggy graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1981. She worked as a member enrollment specialist for Quartz Insurance and volunteered her time at animal shelters, soup kitchens and many other organizations. Peggy enjoyed painting, sculpting, arts and crafts, and traveling. She cherished her yearly trips up north with family. She loved to be outdoors, especially going for walks and hiking. Most of all, Peggy loved spending time with her kids and granddaughter. Peggy is survived by her son, Travis Berger; daughter, Lauren Berger; granddaughter, Abigail Hacker; mother, Arlis Francis; siblings, Steven (Holly) Francis, Michelle (Jim) Mickelson and Joseph Francis; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen; and brother, Timothy Ray Francis. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021, and also at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
