Obituary

MADISON - Richard Harold Hahn, 86, of DeForest, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Sunset Ridge Memory Care in Jefferson.


A visitation followed by a Christian Mass will be held at ST. OLAF’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson St., DeForest, on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the start of the Mass at 11:30 a.m. A meal for family and friends will be served at the church following Mass. Richard will be laid to rest at Mound Cemetery in Pittsville, Wis., on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. After the burial, family and friends are invited to gather for a meal at St. Joachim Catholic Church, 5312 Third Avenue, Pittsville.


Richard was born on March 9, 1939, in Marshfield, Wis., to William Sr. and Anna (Sternot) Hahn. On February 23, 1963, he married Nancy Jensen in Pittsville. After eight years in Pittsville, they began a new chapter of life in Windsor, Wis.


Richard had a lifelong passion for truck driving, spending 45 years driving locally, regionally, and across the country. He also loved racing and rarely missed the open wheel events in Sun Prairie. Polka music was his favorite, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his grandchildren. Richard was a devout Catholic who held his faith close.


Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; his children, Kimberly Hahn of DeForest and Amie (Scott) Mink of DeForest; and his three grandchildren, Kyan Renz, Sopheea Mink and Isabella Mink. He is further survived by his brother, William (Kathy) Hahn Jr. of Pittsville; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marion Dix and JoAnn Lipka; and brothers, Marvin Hahn, Arnold Hahn and Donald Hahn.


The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Sunset Ridge Memory Care for the love and support they provided to Richard during his time there.

I only have the best memories of Uncle Dick. He was so kind and I so loved spending time with him. He would let me ride in the dump truck with him and I would make him banana bread!! He laughed so easily and was such a good listener!! He gave me some of the best of my childhood memories!

Some the best memories growing up are going to the farm and helping Uncle Dick and Uncle Marvin.Their was always something going on! Every Wednesday going to Pittsville Coop to get feed ground.Stopping at Iks Bar for a "soda"(Always more than 1) Getting back to the farm a little late for supper, Grandma meeting us at the door pretty upset!!!! I would look over at Uncle Dick and he would have that goofy grin,it was his way of letting you know everything was alright and next Wednesday we are going to do it again! Godspeed Uncle Dick! Say Hi to my beloved Joanne and all the Uncles A boy growing up couldn't have asked for a better bunch of Uncles!!! Thank you for the great memories!!! Steve and Joanne Hahn
