Randall K. Breed

MADISON - Randall Kim Breed, 42, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 10, 2021. He was the son of Gary Breed of Mount Horeb and Nancy Hacker Breed of Sterling, Illinois. The cause of his death has not been determined. Randy was a friend to all, and loved by all his friends. He was fun, funny, caring, carefree, and a joy to spend time with. Upon learning of his passing, one of his long-time co-workers contacted the family to say, "He was an amazing man, and we are all going to miss him so so so very much. He made shifts better, us better." Randy was born February 3, 1979, in South Korea. Nothing is known of his family or early childhood until age 3, when he was placed in an orphanage. In August 1984, he came to the U.S. to be adopted by his present family, and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He began elementary school in West Peoria, Illinois, and continued in Centennial, Colorado. He graduated from Arapahoe High School and received a B.A. in Industrial Design from the Art Institute of Denver. His work career was mainly as restaurant staff, most recently at the Great Dane Pub and Brewing Co. - Hilldale. He is survived by his parents; brother, Alex (Lisa) Breed of Castle Rock, Colorado; sister, Jennifer Breed of Goodyear, Arizona; plus many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and two aunts. Monetary gifts received by the family will be donated to the Dane County Humane Society. Most important, when you dine in a restaurant or get delivery, please give your server a generous tip in memory of Randy. His time on earth was too short, but his memory will be with us forever. A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, from 4 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021.
