Carl Rolfsmeyer

MADISON - Carl Louie Rolfsmeyer, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Chamomile Assisted Living. He was born on May 10, 1936, in Madison, the son of Louie and Alma (Steinweg) Rolfsmeyer. Carl graduated from Madison East High School in 1954. He married Janet "Jan" Wells on Oct. 7, 1978, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Madison. Carl worked as a farmer on his family farm, other farms and as a laborer for Cottage Grove Cenex. He was a member of Door Creek Church and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Carl enjoyed traveling and especially show boat cruises, fishing, snowmobiling and cheering for the Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He liked solving word search puzzles and playing euchre at the VFW. Carl is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Ken (Vicki) Rolfsmeyer; daughter, Kristi Wells; and brother, John (Nancy) Rolfsmeyer, nephews Mark and Matthew, and niece Janet. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Robert "Bob" Rolfsmeyer. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to American Diabetes Association.
