Michael Moran

Michael Brian Moran, 33, of Austin, Texas, received his wings on Friday, May 7, 2021, after a tremendous battle with colon cancer. Born in Chicago and raised in Madison, Wis., Mike was loved by family and friends. His contagious positivity, empathy, good humor, and humble personality will be deeply missed. On skates from the age of five, Mike loved playing hockey, and was a passionate Blackhawks fan (and Packers and Badgers). He studied business at the University of Wisconsin, Eau-Claire, and had a successful career at Johnson Controls. Mike forged deep friendships at school, work, and through record and beer enthusiast communities. An avid traveler, always up for adventure, Mike packed a lot of life into too few years. His most recent adventure was building a life in Texas with his wife, Kerrie, and mini-me, Madison Claire. He is also survived by his parents, Mike and Lorrie Moran; sister, Meghan (husband, Mike and nephews, Grayson and Cooper). In addition to his immediate family, Mike leaves behind an incredible extended family and many wonderful friends. A visitation will be held at BECK FUNERAL HOME, 4765 Priem Lane, Pflugerville, Texas, at 10 a.m. on May 12, 2021, with service to follow at 11 a.m. A celebration of life is also scheduled for GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
