Obituary
MONONA - Dorothy A. Frederickson, age 87, of Monona, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 7, 2021, at St. Mary's Care Center.
Dorothy was born on Aug. 1, 1933, to William and Catherine (Gruber) Bindl in Spring Green, Wis. She grew up on the family farm, graduated from Spring Green High School and then earned a degree from Madison Business College. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Keith Frederickson. They shared 59 years of marriage until his death in 2015.
Dorothy stayed home, raising her children when they were young and then later, she and Keith owned and operated the Koffee Kup restaurant in Stoughton. She then worked at Dean Health Systems until her retirement. Dorothy was a woman of great faith and a lifelong Catholic. She loved spending time with her family and extended family, hosting many gatherings over the years. She also enjoyed cooking, walking, traveling with Keith and the many golf trips they went on with friends.
Dorothy's greatest joy in life was her family and she was a constant source of support and encouragement for them. She deeply loved her husband, children, and grandchildren, always putting their needs before her own. Dorothy will be missed by many and will be remembered for her kindness and compassion to others.
Dorothy is survived by her five children, Terri (Tad) Mickelson, Mary Kay (Tom) Clauder, Bill (Shawn) Frederickson, Keith (Laurie) Frederickson and Joan (Don) Kazel Jr. She is further survived by nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Ronald) Seely and Pat Frederickson; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; sister, Arlene Kalrath; brother, Eugene Bindl; and twin brother, Harold Bindl.

That was a very lovely service it was very nice to have been a part of it by watching. I remember coming to the home on hero lane and Dorothy being in the kitchen and serving us at the bar that was in the kitchen. How many times that I saw her at grandma Bendler’s house on Christmas and other times she was always such a nice person to talk to. And she did always make you feel better about yourself after talking to her just like grandma Bindl’s and alway did. I remember visiting her at the nursing home and she was always so kind and always had a smile and never complained about anything she was always such a nice woman I will miss her greatly.
