Obituary
MADISON - James D. "Jim" Hoemke, age 73, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He was born on March 23, 1948, in Madison, the son of Carl and Evelyn (Brooks) Hoemke.
Jim graduated from Monona Grove High School. He married Kathy Hoemke on Aug. 25, 1973, in Milwaukee. He worked as an assistant vice president of commercial lending for Anchor Bank, retiring in 2010.
Jim was a loving and great husband, wonderful father and an awesome grandfather. His hobbies were fishing, boating, golfing, and traveling. Jim enjoyed being at his cabin and taking out his boat. He loved to be outdoors, watching wildlife and walking his grand-puppies. Most of all, Jim cherished spending time with his family and watching his grandson's sporting events. He was an avid Packers and Badgers fan.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Heather Hoemke and Bryan (Sarah) Hoemke; two grandchildren, Damon and Aiden Hoemke; and brother, Jack Hoemke. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carolyn Bailey.
A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Memorials may be made in Jim’s name to the Dane County Humane Society.
The family would like to thank the firefighters, EMT, Princeton Club Staff and members who were present and helped us during our time of need. I would especially like to thank Al and Sandy for never leaving my side. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

May my heart felt sorrow on the loss of Jim bring you and your family some peace during this heart breaking time. Jim and I worked together for many years at Anchor until our respective retirements. He was always calm and steadfast in doing his best, even during the chaos of the last couple of years. He was candid in our business discussions and I enjoyed our updates on family and other current events.
