Mattia Pipitone

BROOKLYN - Mattia Pipitone, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on Nov. 16, 1938, in Sicily, Italy, the daughter of Antonio and Anna (Casano) Cirobisi. She married Mariano Pipitone on June 23, 1974 in Marsala, Sicily. Mattia loved to cook, teach people her recipes and share meals with those she loved. She was a nurturer and loved having family together. Mattia was always a hard worker and everything she did was for the benefit of the family. Mattia is survived by her children, Caterina (Vito) La Rocca, Maria Pipitone and Antonino (Jessica) Pipitone; eight grandchildren, Anna Lisa (Karl) Larson, Tiziana (Jamison) La Rocca, Noah Pipitone, Christopher Pipitone, Isabella Pipitone, Anthony Pipitone, Liliana Pipitone and Matthew Pipitone; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Larson and Jack Larson; brother, Cosimo (Maria) Cirobisi; sister, Masina (Filippo) Cirobisi; and three sisters-in-law, Anna Pipitone, Dorotea (Antonio) Bilardello and Dina Pipitone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mariano Pipitone; and parents, Antonio and Anna Cirobisi. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021.
