FITCHBURG - With profound sadness we announce that Jacqueline Mary “Jackie” Werner, age 65, of Fitchburg, Wis., passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 19, 2021. Jackie was born on April 12, 1956, in Waukesha, Wis., the daughter of Jerome and Janice (Holzem) Dahlke. She graduated from Arrowhead High School with the Class of 1974 in Hartland, Wis., and worked as a bank teller. Jackie married Lawrence “Butch” Werner on Oct. 2, 1976, in Manitowish Waters, Wis. After their wedding, they moved to Marshfield, Wis., where they started their family. For many years, Jackie was employed at M&I Bank as a vault teller and as a bookkeeper for a local furniture company. When her grandchildren arrived, she and Butch relocated to Fitchburg and she began working at Dental Health Associates until her retirement in 2020. Jackie was passionate about baking and always made several desserts for every occasion. Her grandchildren brought her the most joy. She loved attending their various sporting events, musicals and other recreational activities. Jackie’s love and laughter will be dearly missed. Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Butch; daughter, Theresa Werner; two sons, Luke (Maggie) Werner and Mark (Lora) Werner; grandchildren, Brayden, Tallyn and Katelyn; step-great-grandchildren, Aydon and Avry; her parents, Jerome and Janice; and siblings, Jean (Dan) White, Judy (Dave) McMullen, John (Kathy) Dahlke and Joe (Dorly) Dahlke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
