Noah James Dennis

COTTAGE GROVE- Noah J. Dennis, age 13, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at American Family Children's Hospital. He was born on June 27, 2007, in Madison, the son of Andrew and Kristie (Pagelow) Reilly. Noah attended Glacial Drumlin Middle School in the Monona Grove School District. He was a proud member of the Monona Grove youth football and basketball teams. Noah enjoyed participating in sports all year long and had a natural awareness of the games he loved. He and his friends enjoyed playing basketball at Dublin Park and the Prairie Athletic Club. This year his basketball team won two state championships of which Noah was very proud. His coaches and teammates were truly like family to him. Noah could bring smiles to people’s faces and made the world around him brighter. Noah enjoyed getting his friends together and was always planning some sort of gathering for them. He liked traveling, especially to Belize with his family, living up the beach life and racking up a ridiculous bar tab at the poolside bar for his non-alcoholic smoothies. Noah loved his family. He was very proud of his younger brother Aiden with whom he shared a special bond. Noah is survived by his mom, Kristie (T.J.) Reilly; dad, Andy (Kara Gamlin); and brother, Aiden Dennis, step siblings Lani, Skylar and Hunter (Gamlin); his grandparents, Bill and Marcy Dennis, Gary and Sandy Pagelow, and Dennis and Marcia Schauff; uncles, Kyle (Kate) Pagelow, Brad (Meagan McCarthy) Dennis and Mike (Sarah Chadwick) Dennis; aunts, Tiffany Reilly and Teri (Clay) Callen; great-aunt, Mary Alt, Steve and Lori Pagelow, Mona Engelhart and Bill Erickson; great-grandfather, Ed Pagelow; and great-grandmother, Marilyn Erickson; his cousins, Alek, Khaleesi, Emma, Dylan and Braden; and his loyal canine companions, especially Wilson, with whom he shared a unique bond. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Dan Dennis; great-grandmother, Lavonne Pagelow; and several great-grandparents and loved ones. A Celebration of Noah’s Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021. All are welcome to attend, however, due to COVID-19 guidelines only 50 people are allowed into the funeral home at one time. Social distancing and face masks will be required. Noah’s family asks that you dress casually, wearing your favorite sports attire or your favorite hoodie to celebrate Noah’s love of all things sports related. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Noah’s name to American Family Children's Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Dane County Humane Society or Monona Grove School District youth sports programs. Very special thank you to Noah’s coaches and coaching staff, especially, Tim Maxson, Ryan Huemmer and Kevin Connor. Your loving guidance and mentoring molded our son into a wonderful young man and we will be forever grateful. Noah’s family would also like to thank the medical staff and service team who worked directly with Noah. An extra special thank you to Sara, Michelle and Sam, nurses at American Family Children’s Hospital PICU, whose compassion and empathy has meant so much during this difficult time. A heartfelt thank you to Linda and Aiden who made Noah’s gift of organ and tissue donation possible so that Noah could continue to improve the lives of others.
